What is Antivirus and working of Antivirus?

If you use a computer, then you must have heard the name of antivirus and you must have also tried to know what is an antivirus, and how it works. So today we are going to talk about this, and in easy language, what is Antivirus and how antivirus works. What is antivirus? Before knowing this, we understand why and why we needed antivirus.

Why Do We Need Antivirus Software?

            Today we do all our work in shopping mobile or PC system like Shopping, Reservation, Payment, Data storing, Education, Office Data. Due to which all our information and data is in the mobile or PC system. Because of which we have a great need to know what is antivirus, and how it works.

          Just as there are both positive and negative, just like good developers are bad developers. Which you have made for the benefit of such programmers with the help of which the data is hacked, viral or deleted. Many people think that black programmers (viruses, worms or malware) are included in our PC system only when connected to the Internet.) Which is wrong. Black programmers (viruses, worms or malware) can come into our PC system with any device such as USB Pendrive, along with the application software we are using with the Internet. Which can corrupt our data? Because of which you need to know what is Antivirus.

What is a Black Programer ?

Black Programmer is a programmer who enter, delete, hack, data transfer and viral our data in our PC system. Let us know a brief about them. There are several types in which we will learn about Virus, Worm or Malware. 

 Worm :- This is a programmer that repeats the working program over and over again. So, that it can reach some other place. Due to which it is often found in the network. So, that it can reach another device and forward the data to another network. Which is wrongly used by Hacker. 

Virus :- This is a programmer, which is capable of copying any data on its own. In addition, it deletes and corrupts the data. This program Hacker is added to any Pirated Software and File, which gets entered as you use it in your PC system. 

Malware :- This is a programmer that is similar to Software. But, this is a Black Programer. e.g. viruses, worms, ransomware, Trojan horses, Keyloggers, Rootkits, Spyware, Adware, etc. Malware is designed to disrupt normal computer or mobile operating systems, gather sensitive information, gain access to personal computer systems, and even display unwanted advertisements. Which is very dangerous.  

How Working of Antivirus?

What is antivirus and working : Developer created AntiVirus to avoid Black Programmer (Virus, Worm or Malware). But, it is not necessary if you use AntiVirus in your computer, then your data will be safe. To keep the system safe, it is necessary to scan it regularly with an AntiVirus Program. This is the reason that it is an important feature of your system.  

There are 3 types of scanning - 

An anti-virus usually performs a three-way scan. Full scan, custom scan and rapid or quick scan, also known as a smart scan. Know how these scans work and when they should be used. 

Custom Scan - 

Here you can select the location to be scanned and prevent antivirus from scanning other drives. When to Perform this scan for fast analysis of each drive. It is a reliable way to test external storage and removable media.  

Smart Scan - 

It scans the infection file with the virus and hence it completes in a short time and scans only those files which have been modified since the last scan. When to do: - Smart scan is a daily tool that can complete the work in a few minutes. It puts a complete picture of your system's health in front of you. In such a situation, you can use it now whenever you want.

 

Full Scan -  

It performs full scanning inside and outside of your system. Through this, your system's hard drive, removable storage, and network drives along with RAM, system backup, startup folder, etc. are scanned. Full scanning may take a few hours. Which depends on the data stored in the system. When to do: - The system should be full scanned once every two weeks. If this is not possible, do a full scan once a month.

Antivirus Losses :- 

If there is any benefit of anything, then there will definitely be some loss. In this way the benefits of antivirus are many but there are some disadvantages as well.

• Slows down the computer: The biggest disadvantage of anti-virus is the slowing down of computer speed. When we open a file or folder when there is anti-virus in the computer, it opens with delay, its speed decreases because the anti-virus does not allow that file or folder to open until it is scanned. Due, to which the speed of the computer slows down.
• All antivirus are the same and they have the same technique of scanning. If a new virus arrives, the antivirus cannot scan it. Due, to which the computer gets damaged.
• There is some shortage of antivirus and they are not able to scan your computer sometimes like if an antivirus scans the virus coming from your internet, then that antivirus does not scan the virus coming to your computer in any other way. If we can stop it, this is a big drawback.
